Hi,

You're reading Parsix Random News #3!

[ Ramon Release Schedule ]
Parsix Ramon (1.0) had lots of progress since last month and is almost
ready to be released as TEST-1. Here we thank all testers, specially
Behnam Marandi for their help. So here is the release schedule with
pending tasks:

Ramon 1.0r0-TEST-1 December 14, 2007
- ---------------------------------------------------------------------
1) Finalized live system structure
2) GNOME 2.20.2

Ramon 1.0r0-TEST-2 December 28, 2007
- ---------------------------------------------------------------------
1) Finalized package list
2) Finalized kernel
3) Finalized artwork (Theme, background etc,)
4) Reported bugs to be fixed

Ramon 1.0r0-TEST-3 January 11, 2008
- ---------------------------------------------------------------------
1) GNOME 2.20.3 to be included
2) Documentation to be updated
3) Reported bugs to be fixed

Ramon 1.0r0-FINAL January 18, 2008
- ---------------------------------------------------------------------
1) Reported bugs to be fixed

Ramon would be the first release of the project, being built using the
Parsix build server. Ramon 1.0r0 will be followed with two bug fix
releases: r1 and r2 if needed.

[ New package additions ]
As suggested by several users, we (re)added camorama, xawtv,
computertemp and exaile player as default packages for Parsix.

[ Build Queue System ]
An early version of the build queue system that helps developers to
submit their packages to the build server has been uploaded to the SVN.
We expect that a working version will be available before the end of
December. Thanks to Milad Rastian for his kind contribution to the
project.

[ Next release code name: Viola ]
I decided to name the next major release of Parsix as Viola. It would
be shipped with GNOME 2.22 and kernel 2.6.25 or 2.6.26 before the end
of June 2008. Exact list of features and release plans will be decided
later. Version number is not determined yet.

Have a very nice day,
Alan Baghumian
