new login in window erratic

parsix 1.5r2

when i login in in a new window and then start iceweasel in that window, why do the fonts and screen go mad, changing size continuously until i get an error:

"there was an error starting the GNOME settings daemon
the settings daemon restarted too many times"

after that it all settles down.

also, sometimes, when u minimise - the xnest screen vanishes - especially when done at outset.
