hi,

some sites (eg. banks) only accept connections from firefox or internet explorer.

how can i get iceweasel to id itself as firefox?

User Agent Switcher addon:
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/59

After installing it, you can select one already made, or add your own user agent string in:
Tools / User Agent Switcher / Options / Options / User Agents:

List of Firefox user agent strings:
http://www.useragentstring.com/pages/Firefox/

Webpage that shows your current user agent:
http://www.useragent.org/

You can also install IE6 for Linux if you really need it:
http://www.tatanka.com.br/ies4linux/page/Main_Page
