Hi
I have searched the 'net to find a Notepad program just like the Windows one, that is, I can copy and paste into or from it. Those I found do allow that at times.
e.g., Gedit does not allow that at some times.
when I read something usefull I copy the text and put it into Notepad in windows and keep for future reference, I cant really do that in Linux, at least with the notepads I have found.
Any ideas please.

| I aways use Abiword as a notepad. their is also sticky notes, right click on top/bottem panels click on add to panel and scroll down then click on sticky notes click on add and the icon will appear on the panel of choice. works like notepad sort of?. |

and to be as useful as them."
You can find it with synaptic, or type in Root Terminal:

apt-get install leafpad
It can then be found in Applications / Accessories / Leafpad . |

I got Crossover Standard from codeweavers, a super addon.
I installed Office 2000 no problem.
I was setting up a couple of programs today and I found, in the Office install folder the Microsoft
Notepad program, it works. To use it I just have to right click on it.
Leafpad is also good, but when I open a file I made from it it opens in Gedit, to get round that I just right click on it and select "Open with Leafpad". |

| Another alternative would be "mousepad". An enhanced leafpad with printing support. I see it available in synaptic. |

Thanks Both Mousepad and Leafpad have translated to Finnish, so I can use them with my native language |
