Post subject: Dell 1500 WLAN in 64 Bit  PostPosted: Jul 12, 2008 - 12:48 AM

Hey all,
I looked around a bit here and could not find another thread discussing this topic already, so if I missed it I apologize. I've got the Dell 1500 draft N wireless pci-e card in my laptop. In previous distros I have used (all 32 bit) I have had no trouble getting the wireless to work via ndiswrapper. In 64 bit Parsix though it installs in ndiswrapper fine, but won't show up in network configuration. The hardware is detected and driver is installed. Any ideas? I tried forcing it as wlan0 with no success. Also looked for alternative driver...no luck. Appreciate any help you can give me.

Update: I'm downloading the i386 ISO now, and going to see if it makes a difference going back to 32 bit. Will post my results soon. Thanks.

Update: Still doesn't work. Once again the usual Broadcom crap doesnt like to play nice.

Is there any indication that shows the card identified? lspci? hwinfo? anything?

Yeah it showed it, and it apparently installed correctly according to ndiswrapper. I've tried to force it with no luck. I'm going to stick with the ethernet connection for awhile until I feel like messing with it again. I'll post lspci info once I try again. Thanks for responding....much appreciated!
