| I always compile the latest Transmission Bittorrent client. It's small, fast and seemingly really simple, however, it has many power features of the big boys like Azureus or uTorrent. You can get the latest tarball here (http://www.transmissionbt.com/download.php) or a slightly older version is in the repos. Enjoy! |

| I was an Avid Azureus user for many years it went through a crashing and freezing period 12 months ago. Tried Ktorrent then that suffered the same fate, Transmission never gives me the same download speeds and control as Deluge which is similar to setup as the blue frog giving good control with less resources. but transmission is still a very good choice. |

I use utorrent for Windows, the best client I know.
For Linux I tried Ktorrent and Azuerus and they sucked way to much power (It would sometimes go 30-40%)
I tried Deluge, it was good, but found some bugs.
Now I use transmission, its a very good client now! |

transmission is great. the only drawback to using it is when you are trying to manage more than 20 torrents or so.
the interface needs work in that department.
qbittorrent is a very nice alternative, packed with features. the interface is also much
better than transmission's. have a look:
