I must agree. Debian is my all time favorite and most preferred distribution, however it's a pain to configure, especially with Gnome. I've tried many distributions before arriving at Parsix, including Sidux, Mepis, PCLinuxOS and most recently Linux Mint / Ubuntu. While Ubuntu (and thus Mint, which is based on Ubuntu) is forked from Debian and innovative, it simply is NOT Debian. I found it to be dog slow compared to Debian. I also don't like how Ubuntu repositories for a particular release are frozen and no updated packages are added. Finally, I didn't care for the way the Ubuntu developers ignore long-standing bugs in favor of adding whiz-bang new features that are poorly or incompletely implemented and usually cause more trouble than they're worth (e.g., PulseAudio, PolicyKit, etc.) Parsix on the other hand is perfect for me!!! It's as innovating, blazingly fast and constantly updated! ...and, it's based on pure Debian! Alan, the lead developer is friendly, attentive to problems and very interactive with the community. Keep up the great work!!! We users greatly appreciate it. |

I must agree with everything said in this post by cmost.
I think alan and the rest of the devs have got Parsix spot on. Ive tried them all and some distros seem to have a cult following and hype till you try to use them they just do not deliver more than surfing the net and basic computing. Parsix really does try to make a complete all round Distro and keep compatibility with Debian and its roots. Well done Parsix |

| While it would be nice to have more apps included with Parsix, I think it's important to keep Parsix install-livecd size so that it fits to one CD. I don't have DVD drive in my other desktop PC. It's easy to install favourite apps after installing Parsix. |
