Hi et al,

I hold great hope for parsix as an easy to use Linux distro for newbies, and I have tried previous versions. I just downloaded, burnt and installed parsix_1.5r0-test-1-i386.iso

The install went OK except my first install I installed to root of that partition. It would not boot up after I modified the menu.lst file for grub to use. The second install I installed to mbr and all was well.

I noticed the (hd0,0) was changed to (hd1,0) in those grub lines. I have two hard drives. One sata and one pata on an Intel DG33FB mobo. I was installing on a sata drive partition which all other Linux distro's label as (hd0,#). But Parsix labeled as (hd1,#), where # is the partition number.

After the install, I changed the clock settings to reflect my localization (Pacfic US) from the default (Tehran). With my Internet connectivity set up and on, my clock sync'd fine. From Parsix, all looked fine. But when I rebooted to another Linux partition, the clock was wack / changed. This has happened also with previous versions of Parsix.

Lastly, though the smooth install process was in English, the boot up was in English, when ever writing text with in the browser, it found common English words as mis-spelled. Its like the English version of Parsix is still trying to spell check in a non-english language. This also has happened before other older versions of Parsix.

I hope this helps the development team.

Try editing /etc/default/rcS and changing the line

UTC=yes

to

UTC=no

Actually, Iceweasel is. Right-click in an Iceweasel edit box, go down to "Languages," and select "en_US" (or "English/United States") from the menu.
