Just installed the 64bt version a couple of little annoyances so far, click on appearances and it freezes for about 15secs on everything I try to do. Exaile does not connect to cddb when playing a CD without python CDDB directories . The installer is much better than before. Don't know about grub2 as I put it on the root drive. Sound preview does not seem to work in nautilus never been a problem before its started to work the next day.

Tried installing on a different computer. Same results. Boots live to GUI then hangs.

My fstab file is:
Try in a terminal
#os-prober
#update-grub2
The nvidia problem seems to be with 32bit Install the header files and try that.
I have not tried the 32bt yet.

Danj, This happened on Live DVD or after installing the system all the time? This is a weird issue. I've seen on some machines the X gets frozen on boot, but doing a reboot, it works just fine the next time. Please let me know. Thanks.

No,because there is no pre-compiled nVidia driver for my graphic card (Geforce Fx 5200)in parsix repositories.
Debian has this driver nvidia-glx-legacy-173xx and ubuntu version is nvidia-glx-173.

I should have phrased that differently. But when i boot the live dvd it will freeze at the GUI. No mouse or keyboard response. It did it with two different computers. The only thing that is the same on the machines is they have 24" monitors.

Danj, please try using text mode installer. Boot into text mode and run parsix-installer command. This is a weird issue and I'm investigating the causes! Thanks.

OK, added precompiled nvidia-glx-legacy-173xx drivers to the repository. Please try them and let me know if you have any problems. Thanks.

I installed driver from repository , restore parsix traditional xorg.conf and change some option as in wiki. That`s worked.
Very thanks.

so far I am surprisingly disappointed with 3.5. the 3.0 series worked flawlessly on my computer.

Everything looked ok when booting the 64 bit live version of 3.5 .. but the mouse and keyboard are both unresponsive and not working. Even the built in touch pad mouse doesn't function.

Apparently I'm not the only one having this issue. This is horrendous to issue even labelled as testing with such a MAJOR flaw in it.

I have one partition I use for linux. The Live CD is the litmus test I use for deciding if I want to install a distribution replacing the last one I used. Therefore, no I will not boot into text mode and overwrite and existing WORKING linux installation for a let's-see-if-parsix-works-after-install.

Don't get me wrong, I love Parsix and have used it in the past. It's the ONLY debian based distro that recognizes my wireless card and has wireless networking working right out of the box.

Previous releases have been step forwards (my laptop monitor's resolution 1440X900 was supported in the last release for example after not being recognized in previous releases).

3.5 Just seems like a giant step BACKWARDS. Kinda like when KDE went to version 4 and broke EVERYTHING that was good and working in KDE 3
