Dear my friends....
I have a problem for playing mp3 files with rhythmbox in parsix 3.0. It plays music but no sound here... Of course I'd try to set preferrrd format in preferences to mp3, but It was'nt work.When I play music with vlc the sound is heard but with rhthmbox is'nt.
Could you please tell me how I can solve this problem?

you probabally need to install these # apt-get install gstreamer0.10-plugins-ugly

Can you be a bit more specific please do Mp3s play in any application do they play in preview in Nautilus when you mouse over them.
Do other formats play ie CD Flac, do media files play Xvid, Avi, Windows media, as all these do on my setup. Are all the correct codecs eg, gstreamer bad etc + win32 installed.

Weird, just tested with a Kev machine, it works. Are you able to play mp3s using Exaile?

Dear mandog: All of the media codecs are installed. when I mouse over the audio files no sound heared.
Dear alan: rhythmbox & exaile play the files but no sound heard. Only with vlc I can hear sound from my speakers.

This means that something is wrong. Have you tried running it from LiveCD? Boot to liveCD and try to install rhythmbox or run Exaile see if it works. Thanks.
