The wine problem is present in a lot of Distros for some reason wine overwrites the default editor. All I do is any file that opens with notepad is right click on properties, click on open with and delete notepad crude but it works for me.
Try these links for opera found them on the Mepis Lovers forum this should cure the problem you are experiencing
ftp://ftp.opera.com/pub/opera/linux/101 ... _amd64.deb
ftp://ftp.opera.com/pub/opera/linux/101 ... 4_i386.deb

the problem is with parsix qt3 setting. qt3 app like Opera, umtsmon, qt3-qtconfig all share same problem. I know opera have both qt3 and qt4. The one i use is "opera portable 9.64 for linux" by hack to live 'super os'.

the solutions is delete everything but qt_plugins_3.3rc inside ~/.qt. For fresh install just delete the qtrc file.
