Just installed this OS last night, and am really liking it so far. I was using Mint 5 before, but it (and Ubuntu 8.04) would randomly lock up. Which was no fun especially when after trying for a while I couldn't figure out a fix.

I can view flash video if it is on the site that is hosting it, but if it is embedded in a blog or anywhere else it doesn't show up. No gray box or anything to indicate that there is a video there. Anyone else have this problem or perhaps know of a fix?

Use Synaptic to remove all instances of Gnash including plugins then install Mozilla free flash-player.+ mplayer plugin, you should then be able to watch them.

I had already removed Gnash, and installed the Mozilla free flash-player but forgot the mplayer plugin, thanks. Installing the mplayer plugin didn't help.

I found a fix for it. I installed the MediaWrap plugin from MozillaAddons, and now the videos are showing up.

Thanks.
